Monthly matches spanning rimfire, carbine, 3x600 mid-range prone, vintage military benchrest, practical shooters, and Steel Challenge, plus the annual Talladega 600, D-Day Matches, and the CMP Premier Shooting Expo make Talladega the premier public marksmanship destination in the Southeast.

No. The CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park is open to the public with no membership required. All visitors must complete a three-step check-in process: complete the eligibility affidavit online, watch the safety video, and pass the safety quiz before heading to the range. The affidavit can be completed in advance at thecmp.org/talladega.
All visitors must complete three steps before shooting. Step 1: Complete the eligibility affidavit and liability agreement online. Step 2: Watch the 10-minute range safety video covering age requirements, certification cards, approved ammunition types, and range policies. Step 3: Pass the safety quiz, which unlocks after completing the video. Completing the affidavit online before arriving will speed up your check-in at the range.
Rifle and pistol range fees are $35 for an all-day pass or $15 per hour. The daily and hourly fee allows guests to move freely through Ranges 1 through 4 and the Unknown Distance Range after check-in with a Range Safety Officer. Skeet, wobble trap, and 5-stand are $12 per round of 25 clays. The sporting clays loop is $50 per round of 100 clays. Archery is $12.50 per day. Golf cart rentals are $15 for a half day and $30 for a full day.
Yes. Tri-County Special: Residents of Calhoun, St. Clair, or Talladega County receive half off range fees on Wednesdays and Thursdays with proof of residence. Thursday Specials include a $5 discount on rifle/pistol ($30) and sporting clays ($45). Each Thursday has a themed special: 1st Thursday is Ladies Day, 2nd Thursday is Public Service Workers Day for first responders with ID, 3rd Thursday is Military Day for active or retired military, and 4th Thursday is College Student Day.
The rifle ranges at Talladega use Kongsberg electronic target systems, allowing shooters to see their results instantly on a display without walking downrange to hang paper targets. The system supports high-volume shooting and competitive scoring with built-in shot detection technology.

Yes. The CMP Pro Shop inside the 13,000 sq ft Clubhouse sells authentic U.S. Government M1 Garand rifles that have been inspected, headspaced, repaired if necessary, and test-fired. Each rifle ships with a safety manual, one eight-round clip, and a chamber safety flag. Commercial pistols including the CMP Tisas M1911A1 are also available. Shop hours are Wednesday through Sunday 8am to 5pm.
Talladega offers Basic Rifle, Basic Pistol, Basic Archery, Introduction to Shotgun, Defensive Handgun, Modern Defensive Rifle, and LEOSA Firearms Qualification courses. The Civilian Marksmanship Program is a federally chartered corporation whose mission is to promote excellence in marksmanship, firearms safety, and youth programs through the secure restoration and sale of historic American firearms. Revenue from the sale of historic firearms and range fees funds the CMP's educational and competitive programs.
