Type: indoor, pistol, shotgun, training
Reed's Indoor Range has been serving Bay Area gun enthusiasts since 1948, making it one of the longest-running shooting ranges in Silicon Valley. Located in Santa Clara, this fully indoor range offers 20 individual 25-yard firing lanes for handgun, shotgun, and pistol-caliber rifle shooters. Reed's stocks what they describe as the largest selection of CA-legal firearms in Silicon Valley, carrying major brands including Benelli, Beretta, Browning, CZ, Desert Tech, Glock, Heckler & Koch, Kriss, Les Baer, LWRC, Magnum Research, Mossberg, Nighthawk Custom, Remington, Rock Island Armory, Ruger, Sig Sauer, Smith & Wesson, Springfield Armory, Tikka, and Wilson Combat. A wide variety of rental firearms are available starting at $12, and the popular Try & Buy program lets shooters rent before they buy. Reed's also purchases individual firearms and entire collections. Training programs cover all levels from beginner through advanced defensive tactics, including NRA-certified courses, For Women By Women classes, UT CCW certification, and defensive handgun training led by an active police veteran. Reed's also hosts a Monday Night Shooting League and the monthly Silicon Valley chapter meeting of the Armed Women of America.

No. Reed's offers a variety of rental firearms including handguns, revolvers, shotguns, and pistol-caliber rifles starting at $12. Rental firearms require the use of Reed's ammunition. Ask about the Try & Buy program, which lets you apply the rental fee toward a purchase.
Shooters under 21 must have their own firearms, as California law prohibits Reed's from selling ammunition to or renting firearms for those under 21. Inexperienced shooters of any age must be accompanied by an experienced shooter. If you don't know an experienced shooter, sign up for one of Reed's training classes.
Yes, but inexperienced shooters must be supervised by an experienced shooter at all times on the range. If you are a first-time shooter without an experienced partner, Reed's requires you to enroll in a training class before using the range independently.
Reed's hosts multiple independent instructors. Bill Tidwell offers NRA Instructor Courses, NRA Personal Protection courses, and Utah CCW certification (valid in 34 states, not CA). J&K Firearms Training teaches a For Women By Women course addressing the unique challenges women face when learning to shoot. Donald Lazzarini teaches Stage-1 and Stage-2 defensive handgun courses; graduates earn the right to practice holster drawing and rapid-fire defensive drills on the range. Check the Reed's Google calendar for current scheduled classes.
