Thunder Valley Precision is the premier long-range rifle training and competition facility in the Midwest, situated on over 200 acres of rolling hills in beautiful Southeastern Ohio. The facility is centered around a covered pavilion with 20 concrete shooting platforms with steel targets at distances from 100 yards to over one mile, making it one of the most exceptional extreme long-range venues in the country. Additional shooting areas around the 200-acre property offer target engagement from under 200 to well over 1,000 yards. A 100-yard sight-in area accommodates paper targets, and a Shotgun/Handgun/Carbine Arena offers all-steel targets. A 3D Archery Range features 30+ acres of stalk-and-walk with 20 Rinehart IBO 3D targets ($20 per archer). Public Open Range fee is $30 per shooter per day. Competition events include Global Benchrest (1,000 yards suppressed-only, standard, and one-mile classes at $25 per class), Extreme Long Range (ELR) matches, PRS series, Sniper tournaments, and Pistol matches. Training classes cover Precision Reloading, Rifle Tuning, Data Acquisition, and Long-Range Rifle Skills. The facility is owned and operated by Tom Sarver, a world record holder in IBS 1,000-yard Light Rifle class and world-class custom gunsmith. Custom rifle systems, the latest optics, and accessories are available. TVP is affiliated with the Global Benchrest Association and hosts the TVP .50 Cal Club.
