Shadow Hawk Defense is the Berkeley County and Eastern Panhandle's premier firearms education and training center, located at 436 Apple Harvest Drive in Hedgesville, West Virginia. The family-owned facility is built around the philosophy that hands-on experience is the best learning tool most class time is spent on drills and live-fire coaching rather than lecture. Instructors carry backgrounds in military, para-military, or law enforcement training. The civilian training program spans beginner through advanced levels: Pistol Safety/Guns 101 (3-hour low-stress introduction for first-time shooters), Concealed Carry Level 1 (legal carry, responsible handling, essential skills for daily carry), Concealed Carry Level 2 (advanced decision-making under pressure and real-world application), and Rifle/Carbine 1 (foundational carbine handling, safety, and precision). The facility hosts competitive shooting sports including USPSA, Steel Challenge, and PCSL (Practical Competition Shooting League) matches, managed through PractiScore. A Government and Professional Division provides training for law enforcement, military, and security personnel. Equipment rentals and a Try Before You Buy program let visitors test firearms before purchasing. Custom outings can be arranged for groups. Shadow Hawk Defense is an NSSF member and USCCA partner. A New York location also operates through partner UMAC MMA.
