American Shooting Centers (ASC) is Texas' largest public shooting facility - a sprawling 563-acre outdoor sporting center inside Houston's iconic George Bush Park. Houston's premier destination for the shooting sports, ASC brings rifle, pistol, trap, skeet, sporting clays, and small-bore shooting together on one site, alongside an events center, full pro shop, and world-class instruction. The rifle and pistol ranges let shooters engage targets from 50 to 300 yards (seated rifle, standing pistol), with qualified shooters able to extend out to dedicated 400-, 500-, and 600-yard long-range lines. Varmint Village offers self-resetting .22LR steel targets from 25 to 200 yards. On the shotgun side, ASC runs trap, skeet, and 5-stand fields plus a 10-to-15-station sporting clays course often called 'golf with a shotgun,' and hosts NSCA-registered tournaments every month. Pricing is straightforward: the rifle/pistol range fee is $28 per shooter (50% off for law enforcement, active military, and veterans), sporting clays run $39.21 for 50 non-member targets ($29.09 for members), and trap/skeet tokens start at $12.65 per 25-target round. Shotgun and golf-cart rentals are available, and annual memberships span Rifle & Pistol ($560 individual / $680 family), Trap & Skeet ($229), Sporting Clays Elite ($339), and the all-access All Range membership ($789). ASC's instruction program is led by certified coaches with military, law-enforcement, and championship backgrounds - including a 5-time Olympian and a Level 3 NSCA Pro. The on-site event center (a climate-controlled Pavilion seating 100 and the ASC Hall seating 380+) hosts corporate outings and charity events for up to 800 guests, with catering and loaner-gun packages. Family-friendly and welcoming to all skill levels, American Shooting Centers is a premier outdoor shooting destination in Houston.
