Metro Gun Club has been a family shooting center in Blaine since 1967, making it one of the longest-running shooting facilities in the Twin Cities metro. Open to the public seven days a week year-round, the club combines a beautifully landscaped outdoor shotgun complex with an indoor pistol range, a cozy clubhouse with a fireplace, picnic areas, and grills for relaxing between rounds. The shotgun side features 15 clay target fields covering nearly every clay discipline: trap, skeet, sporting clays, wobble trap, wobble skeet, a duck tower, 5-stand, and Pat Trap practice machines. Rounds of 25 clay pigeons run $14.50-$15.75 for non-members with youth pricing for shooters 18 and under, and members shoot at steep discounts with 20-round punch cards bringing the cost down to $8.25 per round. Indoors, a 50-foot, 14-lane pistol/rifle range accommodates many pistol calibers and shooters of every level at $11.25 per person per half hour ($7.25 for members). The club runs year-round shotgun and pistol leagues with weekly league rates, and hosts corporate events, group outings, and bachelor parties with reservations. Training includes live and online Minnesota Permit to Carry classes, Minnesota DNR Firearms Safety certification (a genuine youth program), Ladies Night intro-to-shooting sessions, and private lessons. Family memberships are $135 per calendar year and cover the member, spouse, and children 21 and under, with three guest passes included - membership is optional but pays for itself quickly at member rates.
