The Range at Austin is a 52,000 square foot modern indoor shooting destination on South IH-35 - open seven days a week with no firearms license required. What are your hours?

Public hours are Monday through Sunday 10am to 9pm. Members-only hours are Monday through Friday 9am to 10am and Saturday through Sunday 8am to 10am.

Do I need a license or LTC to shoot at The Range?

No. Everyone is welcome to shoot with no firearms license or LTC required. All you need is a valid unexpired photo ID such as a driver's license, military ID, or passport. You will sign a safety waiver at check-in.

Do you accept international visitors?

Yes. A valid passport or government-issued photo ID from any country is accepted. No special firearms license is required. First-time visitors are encouraged to book a Guided Experience Package.

How many lanes do you have and how long are they?

The Range at Austin has 24 25-yard lanes and 5 100-yard lanes for a total of 29 lanes. Handguns, rifles, PCCs, and shotguns (slugs only) may be used on the 25-yard lanes. Rifles and PCCs may be used on the 100-yard lanes, and all firearms must be shouldered or shot from a bench on those lanes.

What are the lane rental fees?

Walk-in hourly lane rentals are $31 per lane Monday through Thursday and $35 per lane Friday through Sunday. Each additional shooter on the same lane is $10 on weekdays and $12 on weekends. Members shoot with no lane fees.

What discounts do you offer?

Active-duty military receive 25% off with a CAC card. Active-duty police receive 50% off with a department ID or in uniform. Retired LEO, veterans, and active-duty fire and EMS receive 25% off on Thursdays with proof of ID. Seniors 65 and older receive 10% off with proof of ID.

Can I shoot as a solo visitor without my own gun?

Solo shooters who do not have their own firearm must pre-book one of the guided packages. Solo shooters who bring their own firearm can rent a lane at the counter upon arrival.

Can children shoot at The Range?

Yes. Children under 18 are welcome as long as they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Children are held to the same safety standards as adults and the range reserves the right to assess each situation individually.

Can I draw from a holster?

Only members who have qualified with the Training Department may draw from a holster. Law enforcement officers in uniform or with their credentials may practice drawing from duty gear. Contact training@therangeaustin.com for qualification information.

Do you allow Class III and NFA items?

Yes. Suppressors, PCCs, and other NFA items are welcome. Please inform the RSO at check-in so they can place you on an appropriate lane. All NFA items must have proper paperwork and be legally obtained.

Do you allow binary triggers or FRTs?

Yes. Binary triggers and similar devices are permitted but must be disclosed to the RSO at check-in. All shots must be made on target or usage will be restricted to semi-automatic fire.

What ammo restrictions apply?

No bird shot, buck shot, reloads, armor piercing, tracers, steel-tipped, or steel core ammunition. Calibers under 300 Win Mag are permitted. For calibers above that call 737-800-3720 before visiting. You may bring your own paper targets designed for range use.

What membership options are available?

Individual membership is $75 per month or $750 per year, covering one lane and the ability to add shooters at $10 each. Family membership is $106 per month or $1,060 per year covering the designee, one additional family member or partner, and up to two children under 18 free. The designee must always be present. Active military and LEO receive 20% off memberships. Membership benefits include no lane fees, free rentals Monday through Thursday, lane reservations, member-only hours, 15% off machine gun packages, complimentary eye and ear protection, $35 FFL transfers, priority check-in, and exclusive member events.

What is the Shooting Dojo?

The Shooting Dojo is a unique belt-ranking training program modeled after martial arts progression. Members progress through White, Green, and Black Belt levels via structured 60-minute daily classes covering reloads, malfunctions, one-handed shooting, multiple target engagement, and holster draws. The introductory White Belt class is completely free. Dojo classes run daily and are listed on the Dojo Calendar at therangeaustin.com.

Do you offer machine gun experiences?

Yes. The Range at Austin offers multiple machine gun packages for individuals and groups. Members receive 15% off all machine gun packages. Visit therangeaustin.com/machine-guns for current options and pricing.

Do you offer License to Carry classes?

Yes. The LTC course is a Texas DPS-certified 4 to 6 hour class covering Texas laws on use of force, handgun safety, holster use, non-violent dispute resolution, and safe storage. A 50-round proficiency test is included at 3, 7, and 15 yards. An LTC Shooting Test is also available separately for those who completed the classroom portion online. Do you offer private instruction?

Do you host group events?

Yes. The Range at Austin hosts bachelor parties, bachelorette parties, corporate groups, and private events. Visit therangeaustin.com/special-events or use the Book an Event form on the website.

What are the FFL transfer fees?

Non-member GCA transfers are $55 per item. Non-member NFA transfers are $95. Member GCA transfers are $35. Member NFA transfers are $75. Patriot Club members pay no transfer fee on non-NFA items.

Do you offer gunsmithing?

Yes. Gunsmithing services are available on site. Visit therangeaustin.com/gunsmith or stop by the retail store for details on services and turnaround times.

Do we offer discounts on memberships?

Yes! Active Military and Law Enforcement get 20% off. Bring your ID to The Range to sign up.

Do we have Member-Only hours?

We are open exclusively to members Monday through Friday from 9AM – 10AM and on the weekends from 8AM – 10AM.

What does ‘unlimited range time’ mean?

Members are welcome to stay on their lane as long as they like, provided we do not run a wait. If we have a waitlist, members are restricted to one hour.
