International visitors and travelers are explicitly welcome with just a valid ID, every rental comes with a free lesson from trained staff, and a full LTC class runs nearly every week. Lone Star Gun Range is open Monday and Wednesday through Sunday from 9am to 5:30pm. The range is typically closed on Tuesdays except the 2nd Tuesday of the month and certain holidays. Closed Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Last check-in for general shooters is 4:45pm. If renting firearms, check in by 4:00pm to allow enough time.

Absolutely. Lone Star Gun Range has welcomed travelers from all over the world for over 18 years. A valid passport or driver's license and a form of payment is all you need. No Texas ID or LTC required to rent and shoot.
Lone Star has five distinct outdoor range areas: a short range for pistols and rifles at any caliber, a benchrest rifle range with 12 covered positions at 50, 75, and 100 yards (seated slow fire only - no rapid fire or pistols), a .22LR steel target range with 9 bays at 7 to 30 yards, a clay target range with electronic throwers, and a private tactical bay available for $150 per 1.5 hours for up to 4 people. No shotguns on the tactical bay.
Yes. Every rental firearm comes with a free lesson from one of the trained range staff covering safe handling, function, and how to fire the gun. This is included at no extra charge and makes Lone Star ideal for first-time shooters.
Yes. Annual memberships are $150 for adults 18 and older and $65 for minors under 18. Membership provides unlimited access to the range during normal hours for the full year from the date of purchase. Day passes without a membership are $15.
Central Texas Protection Training Academy at Lone Star offers Texas LTC full courses, a shooting test only for those who completed the class portion online, NRA sanctioned courses, security officer training, retired and LEOSA officer qualifications, shotgun fundamentals, and continuing education. Yes. The Barrett .50 Cal is part of the Lone Star rental fleet and can be used on the rifle range. It is $10 to rent plus the cost of ammunition. This is one of the very few public outdoor ranges in the Austin area where visitors can shoot a .50 caliber rifle.
Yes. You may keep the brass from your own ammunition. Brass from range-provided ammunition should be left for the range. If you have questions about specific brass, ask the staff.
